Walking Wild on the Feather River

A retreat for women leaders walking their own path.

Lost Sierra Retreat Center, Graeagle California

This four-day retreat is for women who are committed to walking their path—leading authentically in their own way, in their families, communities, work, and lives. However leadership manifests for you, this is a space to deepen your understanding of it.

Walking Wild is a mindset. It’s about living your values boldly and authentically, free from the noise, expectations, and outdated judgements that hold you back.

This retreat is an intentional space for the practice of change—the change within yourself and the change you wish to see in the world. It’s not about finding quick fixes or prescribed answers, but about unwinding the knots—the assumptions, habits, and expectations that cloud our vision. Together, we make space to listen, to reflect, and to reconnect with the deeper questions that shape our path forward.

You’ll step into this retreat by first stepping outside—into nature, into yourself. Before we gather, you’ll take a walk alone and write a letter of intention. These intentions will help guide our time together.

Key Questions We’ll Explore:

- Identity & Change: Who are we becoming, and how do we navigate transitions—within ourselves and in our leadership?

- Responsibility & Freedom: What calls us forward, and what must we release to fully step into our lives as a leader?

- Power & Alignment: How do we recognize and wield our power in ways that honor our deepest values?

- Emotion & Action: How can we transform emotion into fuel for meaningful action and growth?

- Spirit & Inspiration:How do we listen to and trust the guidance of spirit in our daily lives and leadership?

What you can expect:

- A renewed sense of courage and sustenance to walk your path

- Clarity to move through challenges in your leadership journey

- Open Circle’s guiding principles for navigating change

- Shared wisdom and centering practices from other women leaders

- Time for stillness and solitude, and time for connection and shared stories

- Nourishing meals and meaningful conversations

- A community of women to continue walking alongside you

This isn’t about striving or achieving. It’s about coming back to yourself, to what already lives inside you. It is also about opening  to the support of the group through shared meals and experiences.

There’s no grand vision or flashy promise here—just a commitment. A commitment to support you as you navigate your leadership journey, rooted in who you are and what you stand for. We’ll help you uncover your own answers (and questions), and empower you to create a new way of living as you move forward. Walking Wild is about creating meaningful, lasting change—on your terms.

What Do People Say About Working With Open Circle?

“I've let go a few times in my life but not many. I am a get things done type of person. This was a profound experience. There was something, it was not just the shift, there are plenty of transformative workshops that happen and then people go home nad kick the dog or fight with their husband. I think what is im[portant in this worka nd the changes that I observed in myself and others. There was a way that Open Circle guided people, you asked the right question in difficult times. It cleaned the film of that lens of just saying "OK this is who I am" and opened a door beyond that.”

Ingrid Ammondson, PhD. Licensed Clinical Psychologist

“In the work with Open Circle there was no predestined outcome. Conversations moved in the direction that the group chose. As a result, discussions were far richer and more dynamic because they included more than a single organizer/leader could anticipate and prepare for. By modeling tools that empower individuals to both share and listen with intention, it has taught me a new way of learning that aligns with my goals of cultivating creativity and action in my work and life.”

Patricia Lord, Executive Director, Siskiyou County Arts Council

“In working with Open Circle I experienced the way my personal transformation can inspire the evolution of our business. The way Open Circle create transformation is a big deal. They walk the talk – they have done it and are living it.”

Jennifer Sweeney, Co-Founder, X4 Health

“In the journey with Open Circle I moved from awareness to capacity to tangible possibility of my goals. I have developed my own guideposts as I move forward, reminders of what is important and why. And as the winds of change continue to blow, I feel solid that I will be able to navigate them. As I think about the transition I have moved through and see others as they move through various transitions, I think I am the lucky one for being through this process and learning in the way I have.”

Deb Eckman, Marketing Executive, Malware Bytes
